Stalker romance is the sharp end of dark romance: the hero surveils, follows, and inserts himself into the FMC's life uninvited, and the narrative treats that as the danger it is rather than a cute quirk. The strongest entries front-load content warnings and stay honest about what they are, so the reader opts in with full information. Appeal lives in the fantasy of being wanted past all reason — obsession framed as devotion, taken somewhere polite romance won't go. Five-pepper territory, almost always paired with morally-grey MMC and dub-con.
