Billionaire romance

Money as an aphrodisiac and a weapon. The billionaire MMC can buy anything except the one person who won't be bought, and the trope plays the power gap between them for all it's worth: private jets, penthouse ultimatums, a world where every rule bends for him and only she makes him wait. The modern version is less Cinderella and more control: the hero is cold, exacting, and used to winning, and the romance is the slow cracking of that control. It overlaps heavily with morally-grey MMC, age gap, and arranged marriage, and anchors a lot of contemporary romance from comfort reads to four-pepper heat.
