Age Gap romance

One of them has lived a lot more life. Age-gap romance puts a real difference in years between the leads, usually an older, settled MMC and a younger FMC, and builds the tension on experience, protectiveness, and the question of whether the gap matters. The best entries give the younger lead real agency so the pull runs both ways; the trope goes sour when the gap is the only personality in the book. Expect overlaps with forbidden (a best friend's dad, a brother's friend, a mentor), billionaire, and mafia. Heat varies widely, so check the spice rating rather than assuming.
